Social Media Manager
About us:
Elder is a dynamic scale-up revolutionising the care industry by connecting older adults to self-employed carers through an innovative technology-driven introductory model. We are committed to using data-driven insights to continuously improve outcomes for our customers and carers.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager (at least 2 years experience) who sees social media as both a creative outlet and a meaningful driver of business growth.
This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys social media and stays curious about how platforms evolve. You keep up with new features, trends and format shifts, and you’re proactive about testing what could work for our audience.
Crucially, you understand that social media should support real business outcomes. You think beyond likes and impressions, and care about how content contributes to website traffic, enquiries and ultimately customer growth.
You won’t just be scheduling posts. You’ll be actively filming, editing and creating content for the brand. You should feel comfortable behind the camera and confident capturing authentic, human stories in a sensitive and thoughtful way.
Working closely with the wider marketing team, you’ll help ensure our social media activity contributes to brand awareness, traffic, leads and sales while staying aligned with Elder’s tone and values.
What You’ll Do
Own and evolve our organic social media presence across Facebook, Instagram and emerging platforms
Stay ahead of platform developments and proactively test new formats and features
Plan and run structured experiments designed to improve engagement, traffic and lead generation
Create content with clear objectives whether that’s awareness, education, traffic or enquiry generation
Film, edit and produce short-form video and other social-first content
Capture authentic brand moments, testimonials and educational content
Identify thoughtful, appropriate ways to move audiences from social media to learning more about Elder
Track performance metrics including reach, engagement, traffic and conversions
Work closely with the marketing team to align social with campaigns, landing pages and conversion goals
Regularly report on what’s driving meaningful results — and refine accordingly
About You
You genuinely enjoy social media and instinctively understand how platforms work.
You’re naturally curious and like experimenting but you also care about impact. You understand that strong social performance isn’t just about engagement, but about contributing to website traffic, enquiries and customer growth.
You’re able to put yourself in the shoes of our customers, typically adults aged 45–65 navigating complex and emotional decisions around care. You know how to adapt tone, messaging and format to resonate with this audience rather than simply following mainstream trends.
You’re confident in creating content and capable of connecting creative ideas to measurable outcomes.
Must-Haves
At least 2 years’ experience managing social media
Proven experience creating engaging content, including filming and editing video
Analytical in your approach to inform content decisions
Clear understanding of how social media can drive traffic and leads
Strong copywriting skills, including empathetic writing for sensitive topics
Strong awareness of platform trends and developments
Bonus Points For
Demonstrated history of using social media to drive website traffic, enquiries or sales
Experience aligning social activity with conversion journeys or marketing funnels
Experience in healthcare, care or other trust-based sectors
Your Approach
You take a test-and-learn mindset
You stay ahead of platform changes
You balance creativity with commercial awareness
You think in terms of outcomes, not just output
You are a self-starter who is not afraid to try new things
