Tech is at the core of our business. We design and develop almost all of our systems in-house. These range from the customer and carer apps, the elder website, our internal careOS app, and more. This enables us to control and tailor-make our systems to fit our needs, and especially the needs of our customers and carers.

Our tech stack

At Elder, our Front End team plays a crucial role in providing seamless user experiences for both our internal and external customers. We specialize in utilizing popular technologies, including React, Next JS, React-query and TypeScript, to maintain and develop a variety of customer-facing and internal tools. We take pride in our ability to expertly blend popular libraries such as MUI with our own custom components to deliver an unparalleled user experience. Our team is engaged and dedicated to staying at the forefront of technology, continuously learning and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
All our systems are deployed in the Google Cloud Platform using Kubernetes, and CircleCI for continuous integration.

Most of our systems are written in Kotlin using Spring Boot or Jooby. We have an event driven architecture based on CQRS. For the data layer we have a mix of MySQL, ElasticSearch, EventStore. We try to be pragmatic and pick the technology that suits us best for the specific task, be it integrating with a new payments provider, using automation to improve the productivity of our front-line teams, or matching our customers with the best possible carers.
We don’t plan releases. We use continuous delivery, empowering engineers to deploy their own tasks as soon as they are reviewed, tested and merged.
