(Adam to provide a little on himself) With more than a decade of experience as a tech entrepreneur, Pete Dowds’ most recent venture has focused on an issue closer to his heart: he founded Elder in 2015 after his family struggled to find the right care for his grandmother. He decided there needed to be a better alternative for elderly people in need of care, who’d rather stay in the comfort of their own homes. Using a sophisticated and proprietary algorithm, Elder customers are matched with local carers based on their needs and personality to access the live-in support they need. Over five years, the care introductory platform has grown by 85% with 5,000 self-employed carers across more than 500 towns and cities across the UK.

Role Overview
We seek to appoint a new Chief Product Technology Officer (CPTO) to join the executive leadership team and own product vision and technology execution at Elder.
Based in London and reporting to the CEO, the CPTO will play a key role on the executive leadership team and will have complete accountability for Elder’s Technology and Product strategy, budget, and function.
You will be responsible for both setting strategy and delivering best-in-class execution, ensuring that all Product and Tech plans and activities align with the strategic vision of the company and that the business hits its fast growth targets. Designing well-structured processes, implemented with integrity, will bring resilience to the business’s ambitious scaling plans and ensure that the experiences of both customers and carers remain of outstanding quality.
Key Responsibilities and Metrics
Within the first 12 months, the CPTO will:
Work with stakeholders across the business to shape Elder’s Technology & Product strategy, realising Elder’s vision of reinventing what it means to age
Grow and develop a high performing team across product, engineering, and BI, identifying and adding capabilities as needed
Understand and improve Elder’s operating rhythm, leading on bold Tech goals and developing and empowering the talent across the Tech functions
Personify Elder’s culture and help to build a high-performance and inclusive company
