About the Commercial Finance Analyst Role:
In this role, you will support the business across three key areas:
FP&A – delivering accurate and timely budgets and forecasts.
Commercial Finance – providing commercial analysis and challenge to all areas of the business to aid decision-making. (primary functions are Marketing, Sales, Customer Service & Operations)
Data Strategy and Infrastructure - working with the data team to help identify and implement the necessary data and insight to support the business.
Your Responsibilities
As a Commercial Finance Analyst, your core accountabilities will cover:
FP&A -
Working closely with the Head of FP&A to ensure delivery of accurate and timely budget and quarterly forecasts.
Actualising and rolling forward consolidated forecast models (including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPIs) in a timely and accurate manner.
Carrying out reasonableness checks on the information provided by the business, performing analysis to ensure assumptions are credible, challenging inputs where required and evaluating risks and opportunities.
Preparation of monthly performance management reports and board packs.
Commercial Finance -
Working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to complete accurate and timely analysis and reporting on projects and initiatives.
Deep dive into data confidently while keeping focus on the big picture and communicating outputs clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
Producing monthly and ad-hoc reporting and tracking performance trends as required.
Additional accountabilities:
Assisting in the resolution of business queries with core Finance in relation to month-end variances.
Supporting on cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives as required.

Essential Experience:
Strong commercial awareness
Solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting
Experience using modern BI tools (i.e. Power BI, Looker, Tableau)
Ability to design strong visualisations and present findings.
Excellent communication and organisation skills
Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills
High attention to detail
Worked with or supported cross-functional / non-finance teams with commercial analysis
Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
Excellent numeracy and problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt to change
Nice to have:
Understanding of SQL
