About the role
As Elder’s Head of Product, your role is to be the hands-on leader for our Product capabilities, empowered to deliver the best care marketplace for our families and carers. Reporting to the CPTO you will ensure we have the strategy, defined outcomes, roadmaps and skills and experience to drive our products to be best in the market. You will do this by being the voice of our families’ and carers’ experience and the customer journeys should be central to everything you do day to day alongside a sharp commercial mind to ensure we’re delivering value on all axes.
Responsibilities
The visible leader of our Product approach. Lives and breathes shipping great solutions that drive to outcomes, and holds themselves and those around them accountable for meeting those outcomes. As part of this you’re the direct manager of our PMs, developing them to the best version of themselves
Continuously develop and execute a comprehensive, viable and practical Product strategy that aligns with Elder's goals. This will be delivered across our cross functional squads that are aligned to our customer journeys of families and carers.
Partner with the Head of Design & Research to ensure our product centres around customer research and gather feedback to inform product decisions driven by both qualitative and quantitative data
Partner with the Head of Engineering to ensure the engineering feasibility of our product approach across the Elder marketplace
Work with squad DRIs (directly responsible individuals) to ensure they’re able to plan and execute the squad’s roadmaps in terms of our ways of working and strategy
Own the squad resourcing process to ensure we have the right people at the right time in the right roles and look at this holistically across all capabilities required to deliver our roadmaps
Requirements
Multi years of experience taking part in growing consumer-facing marketplaces from £10-30M to £50-150M+ in GTV or equivalent
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team and be able to get deep in the details as needed
Experience of bringing new products and services to market
Experience leading and working with cross-functional teams with an agile approach, you have the ability to promote a test, learn and iterate mindset with clear alignment to long-term strategic goals. The capacity to simplify complex ideas into impactful, straightforward messages is essential.
Strong experience with iterative product development, A/B testing and a deep understanding of user behaviour and analytics to drive product innovation and unit economics
Strong problem-solving skills, data literacy and a bias to shipping software to learn. Also, know the importance of a data-driven approach in decision-making and the balance between qualitative and quantitative insights in shaping the product.
A demonstrated ability to keep up to date with the latest emerging technologies and approaches especially that will enable more effective execution of the product strategy
A proactive attitude towards understanding and contributing to Elder's broader objectives, taking pride in the impact of Product’s efforts on the company's success
