About the role

We are looking for an energetic, flexible, and empathic field supervisor to support us with our London and South East operations. The successful applicant will spend the majority of their time travelling between the homes of our service users in the London and South East area, with the rest of their time spent either working from home or from our London Head Office.

Your work will be diverse, challenging and highly rewarding as we begin to increase the scale of our regulated service across the UK. While supporting regional care, you will also have a strong influence over our community of care workers to support them in their day-to-day jobs.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Reviewing and approving care worker competencies during their first placements
  • Conducting in-person client needs and risk assessments with direct support and coordination with our Care Managers based in our London Head Office. Assessments will be used by Care Managers to create person-centred care plans 
  • Reviewing and confirming care worker’s competencies, conducting in-person assessments and checking in on the well-being of our care workers and clients for our CQC-regulated service
  • First line of contact for care-related issues and clinical concerns
  • Liaising with care workers and care recipients in the London and South East area, making sure they are part of a dynamic and supportive environment 
  • Managing a caseload, ensuring casework is carried out in an appropriate and timely manner with customers who have a range of complex needs 
  • Identifying incidents and possible safeguarding enquiries in accordance with Elder policy and with regulatory bodies
  • Prioritising factors involved in the client’s condition based on knowledge of professional opinion, a customers’ prognosis and other physical, social, emotional and mental health considerations    
  • Recording and maintaining concise and accurate records of assessments and other contacts with customers, carers and other professionals in accordance with Elder’s IT databases
  • Willingness to develop and experiment with new processes and technologies to drive continuous improvement in our service
  • Undertake regular spot checks on care delivery, including medication audits , one to one supervision meetings 
  • Recommend and assign (as necessary) training opportunities based on spot check outcomes and individual learning and development  goals

Requirements 

  • A minimum of 3 years of care experience in a senior care role 
  • Based in London or the South East
  • Care Certificate
  • NVQ Level 3
  • An ability to demonstrate and review moving and handling risks, and assist carers to train for the safe moving and handling of people in community environments 
  • You will have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to manage internal workload through strong planning skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with the local care community
