About the role

We are looking to hire our first IT Support Manager to help us scale. This will be an opportunity to bootstrap an IT function at Elder and to put in place industry best practice solutions. While you will be expected to be hands-on at the start, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and build an IT function as the business grows over the next few years.  

IT plays a key role for Elder - We handle sensitive information and security is paramount for us; we have quite a volume of valuable software and hardware assets that need managing and our long-term goal is to offer remote and office work for our fast-growing teams, so enabling everyone to perform to the best of their ability will be key to our success.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Ownership and management of our varied IT applications suite, including G-Suite, Slack, Salesforce, Trello, Notion, Tableau, Amplitude, Natterbox, Zoom, Pleo and other core IT applications
  • Operate and manage the varied IT hardware used mostly remotely by 100+ people. This is primarily Mac laptops, monitors, keyboards, headsets, mice, conference and AV equipment, printers. 
  • Operate and manage office IT equipment including networking (wired and wireless), display equipment, and video conferencing
  • Implement an MDM solution to ensure that all equipment and software is used in line with best practices for data protection, including encryption, password policies, access management, audit capabilities, lost device protection, etc
  • Run the IT onboarding and offboarding process for employees, provisioning everything they need and retrieving it when they leave. 
  • Manage the procurement process for hardware and software licenses and make sure we get value for money including implementing a suitable asset tracking system
  • Provide/source training and ad-hoc support to users on a variety of IT topics ranging from hardware to software in person, over the phone, video or Slack
  • Assist in procurement of future IT tools and systems
  • Be a go-to on good internal security practice, including running training sessions
  • Collaborate with the CTO on projects to keep Elder’s bespoke platform secure and reliable in line with best practices and legal/regulatory requirements

Need to have

  • You have proven professional experience of working in an IT support function following modern best practices and are now ready to take on the responsibilities of establishing best IT support practices in a 100+ people scale-up. 
  • You’re a well rounded tech enthusiast and as comfortable looking after a 100+ fleet of laptops as you are managing the office network or working with internal stakeholders to evaluate new software solutions
  • You value data security and know how to handle sensitive personal information with best practices and GDPR in mind
  • You’re a people person, and enjoy helping your colleagues with any IT challenges they may have. You’re comfortable working with others and are excited about building out a team over the years to come.
